Some new things

Hey there!

I just love that the spring is here and I can start using some thinner clothes again! ;O)

I went shopping yesterday and bought some new things as well.

t-shirt from H&M, bag from Blanco, choes and bikini from Ardene.

In the evening we met up with Ida and Jean for a while as it was so long since we met now. We went to Chess Café to have a fruit juice. They make their own juices and smooties there, really nice place and sooo jummy!

Well now I have some things to take care of here, so I leave you for now. I hope you have a nice afternoon!

See you later!

An unexpected meeting

This weekend has been great. The other day my mother called me and told me that she heard my former Spanish teacher was here in Madrid with some of her student to see the city and live the Spanish culture. I was thrilled! Dolores was my first Spanish teacher when I started studying this language in the upper seconday school. She taught us not only the language but as she is from Spain, she taught us also about the culture, the art, the food, the geography ect. And then one year later, when I met Carlos, I got to live it all... and during the coming years I found all of this so exciting.. I continued my studies in the university in Sweden and then also here in Madrid and so in the end, I ended up living here in Spain with my love. I have always kept contact with Dolores through the years every now and then and so I called her.

We met up in the afternoon with her and the students and went to the west of Madrid to see the view of the city, the palace and the cathedral from the air as you can go with a cabin on a wire that takes you to "Casa de Campo", one of the largest parks of the city. We had something to drink there and catched up since it was a couple of years since we met.
It was a great afternoon and I hope to see her again soon!

In the evening we went to Soto del Real outside Madrid to go out with some friends. We stayed over at their place as they live close to this village. They prepared this great breakfast for us in the morning, jummy! :P

When we got home we spent the rest of the day hanging around, surfing on the net and watching films... nice!

And so that was the weekend! It's so nice when you meet people again that you didn't expect to meet but that you really like spending time with.

crazy people... ;O)

hehehe ;O)

A good start of the day

I had a great breakfast on the balcony today with some nice reading and sunbathing at the same time :P

jummy! sooo nice to sit in the sun having breakfast!

Have a great day! I have some stuff to fix here at home today, so I'll keep myself busy...

See you later!

Strawberries!

Good evening!

I'm just on my way out... only two nights left to work now as I said... sooo good, then I have the rest of the weekend off! Great!

The other day my darling came home with 2 kilos of strawberries!!! What a wonderful surprise! I love strawberries! So now we have dessert for all week ;O)

Today I made some strawberry marmelade kind of thing (jordgubbskräm in Swedish, don't know the name in English), but you eat it as a dessert with milk, jummy!

very nice surprise, yes yes! ;P

Jordgubbskräm... jummy!

Well I'm off to work! Sleep tight sweeties!

Ciao!

Biking ride on the fields

Hey there!

This afternoon we went for a looong ride on the bikes. We have now got around 25 degrees here and the fields are really green! I just love the spring!

Just outside Meco, the village where we live.

"oooh yeah, I can do it! I'm almost on the top of the hill now and then comes the best part: going down-hill!" That's pretty much what I was thinking in that moment...

Cutie on a bike ;O)

Oh lovely spring!

We have been out walking (and today with the bikes) almost every day now since we came back from Paris, it's great to get some exercise done again! (As if we didn't walk at all when we were in Paris! oh my, what we walked those days!)

I hope you'll all have a great day! I know I will enjoy the great weather as soon as I wake up this afternoon! Just two nights to go, then bye bye night shift for this time! yeay!

Kisses!

Paris, a few tips

I have written down some things that might be interesting for those going to Paris:

1. To get around in the city we normally walk a lot as then you see things along the way between the tourist attractions, but we also use the metro and the busses when the distance is long and when we get tired. I really recommend to go by bus as you get to see things that you otherwise would miss if you chose the metro! We just hopped on a bus every now and then and sometimes you end up where you want and sometimes you end up somewhere totally different ;O) but that's the beauty of it! By the way, I love this old metro sign from the picture.

2. Get up early if you want to avoid the loooong cues at the tourist attractions. We tried to get up quite early the days that we were going to the most popular tourist attractions and that way we didn't have to wait long to get in and had more time for other things as well.

3. If you like modern architecture, I recommend to go to see La Défense. This is a big area in the west of Paris full of new big modern buildings. Among them you find the Arche de la Défense, a huge white building made as an arch.

Arche de la Défense

La Défense area

In La Défense we went for dinner in the restaurant Le Paradis du Fruit, in the commercial centre there. If you go there, this is a great place! You can either have dinner there and try some of their grilled meat with vegetables and different sauces (you can make your own mix of small dishes) or just stop for a drink. They have all kinds of jummy fruit drinks! ;O) I loved this place!

Jummy jummy! A drink with soya milk and fruit.

4. Make plans for what you don't want to miss, because the time pass so quickly and there are so many interesting and nice things, so to avoid not being able to see the things you really want to see it's good to know more or less how to spend the time. I know I never really follow my plans in the end, but at least that way I know that I will have time for the most important things.

5. Don't stress around and ENJOY! ;O)

I hope you will have a great time if you go there!!! I know I wanna go back one day!

Paris, as I lived it... part 2

Good early early morning on all of you!

Ok, so here comes the second part of the Paris trip story.

We stopped by the Galeries Lafayette, which is a big shopping centre with all the famous expensive brands. The building is beautiful! It was nice to have a look but I didn't buy anything though.

We went to see the Louvre Museum, but it was first on the last day that we went inside. It's huuuuge! There was no time to see it all, but we got to see the things that we thought were interesting. You really need time to go there.

Of course I had to make some funny poses with the pyramids in the background ;O)

We went to see Notre Dame, but I didn't get to see the hunchback though... ;O)

We also went to Sacré Coeur. Montmartre, which is the part of the city where you find this basilica, is a really nice block. Here you find small streets full of life; bars and restaurants, all kinds of shops, small markets on the squares and so on. Here you can also find some more colourfull houses, as in the city centre most buildings are white.

Montmartre

In front of the Sacré Coeur. This basilica is located on the top of Montmartre, the highest hill in Paris, so the view is really nice from up here and you can also see the Sacré Coeur from many places in Paris due to it's high location.

Then you can't miss to visit the Arc de Triomphe.

On one of the days we went to Versailles. On the way there we first took the wrong metro, so then we had to take a tram to get to the correct train station. Then we went with the train in the wrong direction! haha so we had to change on the next station and go back. But in the end we got there! I really liked Versailles, specially the small village of cottages that Marie Antoinette had built for her. We never went into the big palace, but chose to see the gardens, the two small palaces and the village of Marie Antoinette instead as we found that more interesting, and I don't regret that as I loved to walk around in the gardens and to see the small village. Here comes some pictures from the day:

In the end, when we were going to return to the train station, it started to rain so we were really soked when we got back to the hotel, but it was a great day anyway! hehe

So that was some of the things we did in Paris, but there was so much more! So here comes a little mix of other places and funny pictures from the trip:

Me in the heart of Paris by the river Seine

Pantheon

mon amour ;O)

who's that crazy girl?

La petite baguette ;O) hehe

And that's all folks! It really was a great week and yet another adventure to add to my memories.

I hope you all will have a great day!

Au revoir! ;O)

Lunch on the balcony

Hey there!

This weekend we have finally cleaned the balcony to prepare it for the spring and summer season. We planted some new flowers and put up the furniture. And so we had the first lunch on our balcony for this year, so nice!

The balcony is ready for the season! ;O)

Jummy! chicken with vegetables in the oven.

The last two days have been rainy but today the sun is back again! ;O)
I'm on night shift now at work, 2 nights done so now it's only 5 to go.
I hope you all have a nice evening! I will try to get some more pictures up from Paris tonight as well.

Kisses!

Paris, as I lived it... part 1

This is the story of our trip to Paris...

We had quite a nice view from the hotel room... the hotel itself was a story of it's own though ;O) But the room was clean and it was ok, eventhough the card to open the door didn't work, the two lamps by the bed didn't work and neither did the television! haha but the hotel was close to the centre and the view was nice, so what does that matter?!!

There is sooo much to see in Paris, so we didn't have time for it all, but we have done lots of things! And I also had the time to meet up with a friend to have a tea and catch up as we haven't met since we both studied in Skövde when she was there as an erasmus student. It was really nice to see her again! ;O)

The first day when we arrived it was sunny and warm, so we mostly went strolling around in the parks and having a first look at the city.

The spring is so beautiful with all the flowers in the trees and gardens!

The rest of the days the weather changed a lot, some days it was sunny and nice and others it was cloudy and a bit rainy, but we were lucky that it mostly rained in the evening and only a few days.

Of course we went to see the Eiffel Tower ;O) I think this was my favourite part of the trip! We went all the way up to the top as well, and then we walked along Champ de Mars and had a pic-nic there with the nice view of the Eiffel Tower. Sooo nice!

Well, I'll tell you more about Paris tomorrow! Sleep tight bloggers!

Back to reality...

Good night!

We're back home again after a great week in Paris! I reaaaally liked it! We have seen so many things, gone all over the city in sunshine and rain, eaten great food and had good wine with the view of the Eiffel Tower... and so on..

I'll tell you more about the trip and put up some more pictures tomorrow... but now I'm heading for bed, MY very own great cosy BED! I love travelling, but then it's soooo great when you get home and get to sleep in your own bed again!

"East, west, home is best!" or like you say in Swedish: "Borta bra, men hemma bäst!" ;O)

But, I'm also already thinking about what will be the next travel destination!

Sleep tight sweeties!

Scary or weird?

Hey there!

I have to tell you what happend the other day! I was brushing my teeth when I started thinking that it was a long while since there was any spider in the bathroom... you know they normally come to visit every now and then.. and so I thought that probably there will be one soon now when spring is here... and so I thought.. why not have a look around, maybe there is already one somewhere here... and then I saw it!!! Behind the toilet in the corner, there it was sitting starring at me.. (ok, the last thing was just my imagination, but still it was there)... I mean, how could I know that? just that day that I think about it and it´s really there! I don´t know if that is a coincidence, if it´s womens intuition or if it´s just scary and wierd!! I know I got kind of surprised!

Well enough about that! Tomorrow we´re heading for PARIS!!! Finally we´re going! I hope the weather will be nice... hope hope hope.. But I will enjoy anyway!

So, I wish you a nice week, ans see you when I get back!

Ciaaao beauties!

Oh sunny day!

Hi and hello all bloggers!

Today I'm in a goooood mood! The sun is shining, I've been out walking and now I'm sitting here for just a little while before heading for work.

It's strange how the sun can actually have such a huge effect on the mood... Now when spring is here, and those days that are quite warm and really sunny, I feel so happy! Let's hope the sun stays for long! ;O)

This is the sky in Meco today! Oh sunny happy day! ;O)

There are other one's enjoying the sunny days as well!

I hope you get a great afternoon everyone!

I'm off to work.

Just a normal Thursday

Hi there...

so this day has been like so many others, but still not.. the sun has made a small come back here in Madrid which is great!

But otherwise.. I slept too much, as I sometimes do when I have evening shift at work.
I just had time to have a nice breakfast in front of the TV, get ready and eat something for lunch and then head for the office...(yes I know, I eat a lot!)
The office is sooo hot when you arrive at 15.00 in the afternoon.. which makes me get a small headache..
The job is the same as always but still there are so many new things happening all the time, which in a way is very good because otherwise it would get boring..
My collegues are as great as always so we do actually have quite fun at work..
Now I'm waiting to go home..
When I get home Carlos will most probably already be sleeping on the couch... and I have to wake him up to get him to bed.. ;O) after having something more to eat of course! me, not him..
Luckily I don't always have the evening shift at work! ;O) Sometimes it's nice to have all the time you want to sleep, but then I don't get to see Carlos that much and you don't really get so much done at all, so I kind of prefer the early shift.

Well, that's pretty much my day today! How was yours?

Sleep tight!

Good food and better dessert

Good evening sweeties!

This has been a really good food day! Then I mean that we have eaten lots of really tasty things!

For dinner we made fish with mashed potatoes, mmmmm!

And for dessert today I made my first brownies! they turned out really jummy! ;P

They look a bit strange but taste like heaven! ;O)

And to finish it in the best way I put some strawberries on the top of the brownies for the dessert, but we ate it up so fast I didn't get any picture of that one haha!

The strawberries have already arrived to Spain! mmmmm soooo tasty!

This is what I call a nice dinner at home! ;O)

The bad thing with the day is that my eczema on my hands got really bad during the night and had gotten all swollen and strange when I woke up this morning... was at the doctors and now I got a new creme to put on so hopefully it'll get better!

Well I'm off to bed now! Sleep tight and have a nice day tomorrow!

Ciao!

Luxury breakfast

Good morning!

We have made some really luxury breakfast! And with that I mean scones ;O) sooo jummy!
My sister made those for me when I was in Sweden last time and I hadn't eaten them for years... I loved them, so I thought that why not make some at home sometime! So last weekend we made some and now we made them again 'cause they turned out really jummy! And Carlos likes them too so I guess there will be lots of scones here during the coming weekends ;P

A great start of the day!

Now I'm soon off to work, I hope you all have a nice Sunday!

New design

Good evening bloggers!

I have finally got a new design on my blog! It's my lovely sister that fixed it! http://kompez.blogg.se
What do you think? Great, isn't it? ;O) I like it! Feels more like summer!

I hope you have a great weekend! I still have one hour to work and then I go HOME! ;O)

Fin de mar!

Evening shift

Hey yo sweethearts! ;O)

I'm back at evening shift at work now.. like 3 weeks to work in the evening.. but at least I get to sleep a looot!

The spring has come to Spain by the way.. the fields are green, the almond trees are in bloom and the animals are running around on the open fields. I have been out for long walks the last 3 days and it's so nice to see how everything gets colourful and full of energy! It makes me feel that way too!

And of course I'm looking forward to my visit to Paris! If you have any tips of what to see, what to eat or anything else you can't miss when going to Paris, please let me know!!

This is from a park with miniatures of famous buildings from all of Europe in Torrejón here outside Madrid. Carlos took me there one afternoon to see it as a surprise, so cute! It's a really nice park. And soon I will see the real Eiffel tower! ;O)

Lots of kisses to all of you still coming back to read my blog even if I don't write too often!

Fin de mar!

Long time no seen...

Hi there!

I'm kind of a blog-disaster.... I haven't had any inspiration to write lately so I didn't.. sorry about that.
There has been many things happening though.

First of all, Carlos asked me to marry him! ;O) It was on our 8th anniversary in February, we went to dinner on a nice restaurant to celebrate our 8 years together and so he asked. And of course I said yes! hehe So now I'm an engaged woman!

I have also been at home in Sweden for almost a week in the end of January, but it went so fast I didn't have time for much.. I was in my village during the weekend to see almost all my family and then I went to Göteborg for a few days to see my sister and her family and to meet up with a friend. And then I had to go back again... I hope I get to see some more friends next time I'm home!

In February I went with my friend Caroline to Lanzarote for 4 days, was so great! 23-24 degrees and sun! We went swimming with the sea lions and we went to see the national park Timanfaya with the volcanos and there we also had a ride on the camels. Well they were actually dromedaries but they called them camels. ;O) We also had the first bath in the sea of this year! Were 4 great days!

And I keep working as always... they have told us at work that our department is supposed to be moved to England between September this year and January next year, so I still have a few months left at this job. Then we'll see what happens. But I'm positive and hopefully I will find a great job to start after this one. ;O)

This year has been quite good so far I think... besides all with the job.. but in the end of this month me and Carlos will go to Paris! I'm so looking forward to it! I have never been there and I have to admit that it is one of the places one have to see before life is over, so to speak. So for me so far this year has been full of travels and adventures to look forward to, which means a good year! ;O) Let's hope it continues that way!

Well I think I have written too much... so I leave you for now with a few pictures from the last couple of months. Have a great day everyone!

Our engagement. We had lobser in a rise stu for dinner.. sooo tasty! ;O)

At home:

We had a little party with the family as my father had turned 55, and because I was at home visiting! ;O)

The small river is frozen...

it's coooold! ;O)

my nephew likes tomatoes... you could never guess that, could you? ;O) sooo cute!

Lanzarote:

Ciao!

Mixed feelings...

Good night everyone!

I have some news to tell you about. Two good and one not so good...

...so... let's start with the not so good one...

the company where I work at the moment will close the office here in Madrid, which means I will most likely be without a job within a not so far future... but... I hope I can find something else before that happens!

And so.. to the good news ;O)

1. At this hour in one week I will be in Sweden! Oh yeah! I'll be home for a week to visit family and friends, can't wait!

2. I just booked the plane tickets for Lanzarote! So I will be at the beach in the sun for a few days in a little more than one month! This time I'm going with a friend of mine, so it'll be a girls trip! Fun fun fun!

As you might understand I have kind of mixed feelings about everything right now... but I hope that the job thing will be solved soon.

Fantastic weekend!

Hello!

I have had a very very nice weekend! The dinner on Saturday went well ;O) it was really nice! So hopefully we'll do it again soon! I forgot to make pictures though... I know, I always forget... sorry!

On Sunday the sun was shining and it was warm like in the spring! So we took out the bikes and went for a ride on the countryside, it was so nice! Then we spent the evening with a good movie and some nice food from the day before. The perfect Sunday! ;O)

Yesterday I was at work again, and tomorrow I'm off again.. hehe so only two days to work this time, but then I work all weekend... not so funny. Tomorrow I want to go shopping so I hope I'm not gonna be sick, as I'm starting to feel a little strange... I cross all my fingers and toes that I'll be just fine!

Hope you guys have a great evening!
